Mountainair High School’s 8-man football team wrapped up its regular season Oct. 26 with a 64-6 rout over Alamo Navajo to finish with an 8-1 overall record. The Mustangs are the No. 3 seed in the upcoming 8-man state playoffs and have a bye in the first round. Mountainair will host the winner of the Nov. 3 matchup between No. 6 Logan and No. 11 Ramah. Mountainair’s volleyball team won its final home match of the season Oct. 30 over Hondo Valley, 3-0. The Lady Mustangs wrapped up the regular season Nov. 1 at Vaughn.
Manzano High’s football team rolled to a 47-30 victory Oct. 25 over Eldorado. The Monarchs wind up the regular season Nov. 3 at Albuquerque High. East Mountain residents Katelyn Alam and Payton Bovee each chipped in a goal to help the Lady Monarchs soccer squad end their season with an 8-1 victory at home Oct. 27 over Capital.
Moriarty High’s football team fell 46-0 at Portales Oct. 26. The Pintos wrap up their season Nov. 2 by hosting Ruidoso. Moriarty volleyball lost its regular-season finale 3-0 at home Oct. 30 to Pojoaque Valley.
East Mountain High School’s girls soccer team got the No. 8 seed in the 1A-3A state playoffs and will host No. 9 Portales Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. East Mountain’s volleyball team picked up a 3-0 victory Oct. 30 over Cottonwood Classical Prep.
