Raymond Stanley Trnka, 81, passed away Jan. 24 in Edgewood. He was born July 29, 1934, in Glencoe, Minn., to the late James and Lillian (Cherney) Trnka. Raymond was a member of the American Legion Post 49 for 10 years and Post 19 for 16 years. He also spent four years in the U.S. Air Force. Raymond retired 16.5 years ago and spent out his final days living in peace and harmony at Conchas Dam. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Trnka of Conchas Dam; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Kathy Trnka of Edgewood, Todd Trnka of Sausalito, Calif., and Craig and Christine Trnka of Edgewood; and sisters, Lilliann Voigt and Joann Jamieson. Raymond was blessed with four grandchildren, Bodie Trnka, Levi Trnka, Holden Trnka and Scarlett Trnka. A memorial service will be held Jan. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a memorial donation made me made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
