The top-seeded Estancia High football team (9-1, 4-0) will host No. 9 McCurdy Friday in the Class 3A state quarterfinals. The Bears are averaging more than 41 points a game and clobbered McCurdy last month 45-0.

Moriarty football (9-1, 3-1) hosts No. 6 St. Michael’s on Friday in the 4A state quarterfinals. The No. 3 Pintos beat St. Mike’s 20-7 in Santa Fe on Sept. 10.

Mountainair High’s 8-man football season ended last Friday in the state quarterfinals after a 70-20 defeat at the hands of the No. 4 Mesilla Valley Christian SonBlazers. The No. 5 Mustangs finished with a 9-3 record.
