Estancia FFA’s meat team placed second last year at the New Mexico State CDE’s. This qualified them to compete at the National Western Meats Judging Contest in Denver, Colorado.
Team members are Alexis Aday, Wilse Corliss, Daniel Lujan and Juan Silva. They are coached by Kenneth Lujan and Milton Harbert is the FFA Advisor. Heather Aday served as chaperone for the trip.
In the FFA Placings portion of the contest Daniel Lujan placed second individually and Juan Silva was eighth, and the team placed fifth. In FFA Grading Alexis Aday was eighth as an individual and the team was third. In Retail ID, Alexis Aday was 10th individual and the team was fifth. In the high individual portion of the contest, Daniel Lujan placed fourth and Juan Silva placed 10th. The team placed fifth in the FFA division of the contest.
