Florence Madril-Montoya, 74, passed away in Stanley, on Feb. 7. She was born on August 30, 1943 in Magdalena to the late Samuel and Raina Madril. Florence was a sweet and gentle soul who absolutely loved to love everyone around her. Her favorite pastimes were coloring and reading, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Madrid and Julio Madrid. Florence is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Richard Montoya of Stanley; sons, Samuel Montoya and wife Antoinette of Moriarty, and Anthony Montoya of Stanley; daughter, Cindy Aragon of Stanley; sisters, Sally Otero of Los Lunas, and Josie Sedillo of Albuquerque; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Feb. 9 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty. The Rosary was recited at 9 a.m. with a celebration of Mass following. Pallbearers were Michael Murphy, Jonathan Murphy, Mark Murphy, Abel Chavez, Geno Chavez and Renita Encinias. Interment was at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty. Arrangements were entrusted to Harris-Hanlon Mortuary.
