A dry week ahead is in store for the East Mountains with afternoon high temperatures near normal. Thunderstorm activity today looks to be well east of our area; from Capulin to Carrizozo to the Texas border. After today any thunderstorm activity will be along the Texas border.
Low pressure over Utah will move slowly to the northeast. High pressure will build over New Mexico resulting in a dry week for the East Mountains. A backdoor cold front could move into our area late Friday; however, the timing of the front is not yet clear.
For the Estancia Valley and the Moriarty areas expect dry weather right thru the week. Winds could become breezy later in the week, but not like this past Saturday. High temperatures for the week will be in the lower to middle 80s. Overnight lows Monday night will be in the middle to upper 30s. Low Temperatures the remainder of the week will be in the lower to middle 40s.
For the Cedar Crest, Tijeras and Sedillo areas expect dry weather thru the week. Winds could become breezy later in the week, but not like this past Saturday. High temperatures on Monday will be in the middle to upper 70s. High temperatures on Tuesday will be around 80. High temperatures Wednesday thru Friday will be in the lower 80s. Overnight lows Monday night will be in the middle to upper 40s. Low temperatures Tuesday night will be around 50. Low temperatures Wednesday night and Thursday night will be in the lower to middle 50s.
