obit gaylancropGayln Wayne Solomon, 70, passed away Aug. 16 in Estancia. He was born Sept. 4, 1945 in at the family home in Torrance County, to the late Chan and Viola (Schultz) Solomon. Gayln was a lifetime resident of New Mexico and a member of the Methodist Church in Estancia. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and community. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, James Solomon and Olin Solomon. Gayln is survived by his aunt, Amilia Shield; sisters-in-law, Kitty Solomon and Shirley Solomon; nieces, Louise Solomon, Barbara Collins, Lydia Merck and Cindy Solomon; nephews, Deen Solomon, James Solomon and Brian Crider, as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. A graveside memorial service was held Aug. 26 at the Estancia Cemetery. Pallbearers were Deen Solomon, Leo Dennisson, James Solomon, Dillon Erwin, Brian Crider and James Collins. Honorary pallbearers were all of Gayln’s friends and neighbors. Arrangements were entrusted to Harris-Hanlon Mortuary.
