Horton Lee Irvin was born at Doctors Hospital on Feb. 19, 1949, in Albuquerque. He passed away Nov. 27 at 10:45 p.m. Lee was raised by Godly parents, Horton and Virginia Irvin, and accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at age 5. He served his country in Vietnam and was glad to do so. He moved back to New Mexico in November 2009 following the death of his wife, Eula May. He is survived by two brothers, Daniel and his wife Judith, and Steven and his wife Patty; seven sisters, Emma Hardcastle, Kathy and her husband Charles Carter, Ellen and her husband Jack McHuen, Virginia and her husband Kenneth Benson, Priscilla and her husband Donny Krug, Polly Irvin, and Murreline and her husband Shawn Collins; eight nephews, seven nieces and 21 great-nieces and nephews; also many cousins and friends. Lee will be missed so very much but we have the assurance we will be with him some glorious day. A funeral service is scheduled for Dec. 2 at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty at 9 a.m., with Pastor Hudson officiating. Interment will be Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. at the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Lawton, Oklahoma, with Pastor Daniel Irvin officiating. Pallbearers will be Steven Irvin, Kenneth Benson, Steven Benson, Charles Carter, Rev. Charlie O’Daniel and Sandy Harjo. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Irvin and Eugene Ness. Arrangements were entrusted to Harris-Hanlon Mortuary.
