Iva Deena Perkins, 96, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away May 19. She entered into the blessedness of eternal life with our Lord Jesus Christ. Iva entered this world Oct. 22, 1920 in Estancia, born to Peter and Iva Moe. She is survived by her son Paul G. Perkins; daughter Betty Zeiher and husband Walt Zeiher; daughter Paula George; grandson Don Byers and wife Jennifer; granddaughter Kim Barr and husband Rick Barr; and two great-grandchildren, Jack and Sabrina Byers. Iva was raised on the family ranch in Estancia and graduated from Willard High. After high school she met and married George W. Perkins, a resident of Mountainair. Later they moved to Belen, and then settled in Albuquerque where she retired from the First National Bank. She was a dedicated Christian and follower of Jesus Christ, and every area of her life reflected his character. She was kind, caring and lived with integrity. She is very special and will be deeply missed. She was a member of Faith Chapel Foursquare Church in Albuquerque. The viewing will be at French Funeral Home in Albuquerque on May 28, from 6-8 p.m.; the funeral service will be at French Funeral Home May 30 at 1 p.m. An additional viewing will be prior to the funeral service from 12-1. A memorial service will follow immediately after the funeral at Sandia Memory Gardens in Albuquerque.
