James “Jim” Walter Foster, 74, passed away Jan. 19 in Moriarty. He was born Jan. 6, 1944 in Seattle, Wash., to the late Walter and Emily (Taber) Foster. Jim served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lavina Anaya, as well as some brothers and sisters. Jim is survived by his sons, Estevan Foster and wife Denise of Phoenix, Ariz., Eric Foster of Salida, Colo., and Allan Foster of Moriarty; daughter, Sheila Carroll of Edgewood, and sisters, Ellen and Patsy; and nine grandchildren. A funeral service is scheduled Jan. 26 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty. The Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. and the Celebration of Mass will follow at 10. Father Lancaster will officiate. Pallbearers will be A.J. Foster, Jessy Manzer, Jeromy Manzer, Art Butler, Michael Anthony Kelly and John Pearcy. Interment will be at the Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty.
