James Walter Jimenez, 65, passed away July 29 in Albuquerque. He was born Aug. 12, 1950 in Muskegon, Mich., to the late Henry and Elva (Clark) Jimenez. James was a member of the Moriarty Lions Club and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. James loved selling at the Moriarty Flea Markets and had been doing so for over 30 years. He was a volunteer firefighter and a longtime resident of New Mexico. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family. James is survived by his wife of 34 years, Eloisa Jimenez of Moriarty; sons, David Gallegos and Raymond “Sonny” Gallegos both of Moriarty; daughters, Nancy Gutierrez and Elaine Lopez (Bernie Otero) both of Albuquerque; brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry Jr. and Cathy Jimenez of Yorbalinda, Calif., Roger and Callie Jimenez of Albuquerque, and Chris and Jennifer Jimenez of Corrales; sisters and brother-in-law, JoAnn Romeo of Winfield, Kans., and Florance and Tom Baca of Albuquerque, and he also raised Rita Marquez, Carla Naranjo, Virginia Alires and Dave Garcia; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited on Aug. 3 at 7 p.m., with the casket being open one hour prior, at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty. The Celebration of Mass will be Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. Pallbearers will be Bernie Otero, Dave Garcia, Joe Alires, Angel Lopez, Eloy Lopez, Paul Hernandez, Josh Jimenez and Dylan Jimenez. Don Trumble will be an honorary pallbearer. Interment will be at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty, NM.
