Joan E. Carlson, 74, passed away in Moriarty on Feb. 5. She was born on June 23, 1942, in Lubbock, Texas. Joan was a corrections officer with C.C.A. for 13 years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Joan was preceded in death by her father, Arlie Pope and son, Johnny F. Rich Jr. She is survived by her mother, Ruth Jennings of Estancia; daughter Arleen A. Rich of Moriarty; brother, John Pope and grandson, Andrew Martin Rich. A viewing will be held Feb. 9 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, followed by a graveside service at the Estancia Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Andrew Rich, Bob Walton, John Rich and Mike Rich. Arrangements were entrusted to Harris-Hanlon Mortuary.
