Lloyd Edward Riddles, 81, passed away May 2 in Moriarty. He was born on Nov. 28, 1935 in Waurika, Okla., to the late Elmer and Bertha (Quillin) Riddles. Lloyd was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and pastored for over 50 years. He was extremely proud of his cowboy poetry, and was a very well-rounded person. He passionately rode saddle broncs as well as bulls, and was very involved in the PRCA. He was an announcer for PRCA rodeos and was an actor as well. He was also preceded in death by his wife Shirley Riddles; brothers Truman Riddles and Eldon Riddles; son Wayne Riddles and great-grandson, Christopher Chavez. Lloyd is survived by his sons, Kevin Riddles and wife Ilona, and Corey Riddles and wife Amy; daughter Renea Rippetoe and husband Frank; daughter-in-law Linda Riddles and sister Cathy Brookshire and husband Tony; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held May 5 at 2 p.m. at Calvary Chapel in McIntosh, with Pastor Mike Nasci and Pastor Frank Rippetoe to officiate. Pallbearers will be Michael O’Donnell, Mark Pope, Rusty Rippetoe, Mark Riley, Brad Bonger and John Paul Phillips. Interment will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty, where Lloyd will be laid to rest with his wife Shirley. Arrangements were entrusted to Harris Hanlon Mortuary.
