Marion Joseph Mizner, 93, of Melbourne, Arkansas passed away Dec. 29, 2015 in Batesville, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Hiram Mizner and Ethel Forbes Mizner, and was born Jan, 19, 1922 in Oakland, California. He departed this life at the age of 93 years, 11 months and 10 days. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, provider and friend. He was united in marriage to Gladys Florence Price on March 21, 1941, and to this union four children were born. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. During his working years he had many occupations. He was an electrician, locksmith, heating and air technician, salesman, reserve officer for the Los Angeles Police Department and Emergency Medical Technician. He was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church in Mountain View. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Gladys Mizner of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Evelyn Mizner of Melbourne, Ark.; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Beverly and Dan Lichti of Templeton, Calif., and Jan and Scott Ball of Dalhart, Texas; one son-in-law, Keith McDonald; two sisters, Margaret Chapman of Denver, Colo., and Edith Newman of Ringold, Ga.; 14 grandchildren, Jeannette Perry of Edgewood, Rachel Criss, Lea Turner, Timothy Mizner, Jonathan Mizner, Elisabeth Mizner, Gabriel Mizner, Julie Jaekel, Zach Lichti, Cherri Weatherford, Jared Ball, Justin Ball, Kaitlyn Ball and Garrett Ball; twenty great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends. A funeral service was held Dec. 31 at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne, Ark. Burial was at Combs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Jonathan Mizner, Gabriel Mizner, Glen Mizner, Scott Ball, Timothy Mizner and Chuck Huff. Honorary pallbearers were Diego Suarez, Dan Lichti, Gary Poland, Alan Brooks, Richard Hemple and Joseph Turner.
