Amber and Nick Gaspar opened an ice cream parlor in Estancia on July 17. The couple recently had a baby and moved from the city to the East Mountains. The business is completely family run. They specialize in making premium house-made “hard ice creams,” shakes, and sundaes.
Amber Gaspar said she loves being creative in the kitchen and enjoys playing with ice cream concepts. The couple plans to have monthly specials and to host special events like celebrating Ice Cream Day. The monthly special will be “unique and fun” following trends, seasonal foods and popular flavors.
They currently serve Rocky Road, Java Chip, Raspberry, Chocolate Chunk, Vanilla, Chocolate and Bubblegum ice cream. The flavor of the month is Peach ice cream, made with fresh peaches.
Hours of operation are Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The price range is $3 to $6. The ice cream shop is located inside Highway 41 Shops in Estancia, a commercial building across from the water kiosk on the main drag in town. There are signs, banners, flags, picnic tables and a classic Opel parked out front.
The business is named after the old car, since Nick Gaspar is also a classic car enthusiast. “We would love to have the classic car community come out!” said Amber Gaspar.
