Ruth Humiston Marshall, 85, passed away of July 16, 2017 in Leyba. She was born Dec. 26, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Homer and Katharine (Zenner) Humiston. Ruth was a longtime resident of New Mexico and a member of the Stanley Union Church. She loved to sew, knit and embroider. Ruth will be deeply missed by her family, friends and community. She is survived by her beloved husband, Walt H. Marshall of Rivera; sons, Walton Marshall of Kazakhstan, Frederick Marshall and Zhe Lan Chen of Arlington, Texas and Daniel Marshall and wife Josephine of Houston, Texas; daughters, Meredith Lowry and husband William of Port Townsend, Wash., and Daphne Talbot and husband Rob of Edmond, Okla.; brother Karl Humiston and wife Bonny and sister, Susan Chapp; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for Sept. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stanley Union Church, with Pastor Tim Falling to officiate. Burial will follow at the Stanley Union Church.
