Moriarty High softball pounded the visiting Capital Lady Jaguars in both ends of a doubleheader last Saturday, 15-0 and 16-1. The sweep improved the Lady Pintos’ record to 11-3.

East Mountain High softball won 14-2 at Taos last Saturday on the heels of Thursday’s 6-3 and 18-8 doubleheader sweep at home over Hatch Valley. The Lady Timberwolves’ record is now 10-3.

After a 9-0 loss to McCurdy in last Thursday’s opening-round game at the Pecos Panthers Invitational Tournament, East Mountain baseball picked up its first two wins of the season by outlasting Questa 12-9 on Friday followed by a 14-2 victory Saturday over Tucumcari.

Estancia High baseball got past McCurdy 12-7 the day after beating Questa 8-1 in the first two rounds of the Pecos Tournament. The Bears lost to host Pecos 5-0 in the tournament finale which was postponed to Monday due to stormy weather.
