New Mexico’s state engineer Tom Blaine will be the keynote speaker at the annual meeting of the Estancia Basin Resource Association.
The meeting will be held Jan. 9, 2016, at the Moriarty Civic Center, starting at 2 p.m.
Updates on a well-monitoring project which has been ongoing for several years will be given by David Chase.
Kerry Jones of the National Weather Service will share information about projected weather patterns for the Estancia Valley and East Mountains.
Members of the organization, which sprang up several years ago in response to an attempt to sell water from the Estancia Basin to Santa Fe, are encouraged to attend, and the public is invited.
An update of EBRA’s activities for the past year will be given by board president Art Swenka, and board members will be elected for the coming year. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be offered at the meeting.
For more information, contact Swenka at 505-384-0176 or Peggy Schwebach at 505-384-5139.
