East Mountain Historical Society Las Posadas, DEC. 19, 6 p.m.  at the historic church just west of the East Mountain Library in Tijeras. The public is invited to enjoy musicians and singers in a 400 year old traditional reenactment of the journey of Mary and Joseph as they search for accommodations (posadas) in anticipation of the birth of baby Jesus. Follow as a sung conversation between “residents” of the inn and the visitors ensues until finally the visitors are allowed to enter. Songs will be sung in traditional Spanish, and the East Mountain Historical Society will provide translations for members of the public to follow along. Once the “innkeepers” let the group in to the church, the public is welcome to enjoy refreshments and music after witnessing the event.
