High pressure to the northeast of our area will allow moisture to seep north into the East Mountains from Chihuahua on Friday. At the same time a weak upper level storm system will move east across New Mexico. The combination of increasing moisture and the weak storm system will lead to the possibility of afternoon and evening thunderstorms across the East Mountains and Estancia Valley. A few of the thunderstorms could be strong with heavy rain, strong winds and hail. However, at this time the strongest thunderstorms will be to the east of our area. High pressure will build into New Mexico for a dry, breezy and warm weekend.

For Edgewood, Moriarty and the Estancia Valley Friday will be partly cloudy with a chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms. A few of the thunderstorms could be strong with heavy rain, strong winds and hail. High temperatures will be in the lower 80s with low temperatures Friday night in the lower to middle 40s. Saturday and Sunday will be dry and breezy. High temperatures over the weekend will be in the middle to upper 70s. Lows Saturday night will be around 40 degrees.

For Cedar Crest, Tijeras and Sedillo Friday will be partly cloudy with a chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms.
