An upper level low pressure area will move slowly from the Great Basin to the Southern Rockies on Saturday. At the same time a Pacific cold front will cross New Mexico. Increasing southerly winds will bring low level moisture to the East Mountains. The combination of increasing moisture, instability and the Pacific cold front will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms to the East Mountains Saturday afternoon and evening. A few of the thunderstorms could have damaging wind gusts and hail. High pressure will bring a return of sunny and breezy weather on Sunday.

For Edgewood, Moriarty and the Estancia Valley Friday will be dry with near normal temperatures. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s with overnight low temperatures in the middle to upper 40s. Saturday will be partly cloudy and becoming breezy in the afternoon. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. A few of the thunderstorms could have damaging wind gusts and hail. High temperatures will be in the lower to middle 70s with overnight lows in the middle to upper 40s. Sunday will be sunny and breezy. High temperatures Sunday will be around 80 degrees.

For Cedar Crest, Tijeras and Sedillo Friday will be dry with near normal temperatures. High temperatures will be in the middle to upper 70s with overnight low temperatures in the lower 50s. Saturday will be partly cloudy and becoming breezy in the afternoon. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. A few of the thunderstorms could have damaging wind gusts and hail. High temperatures will be in the middle to upper 70s with overnight lows in the lower 50s. Sunday will be sunny and breezy. High temperatures Sunday will be in the middle 70s.
